The app has been designed to simplify the administration of the ACS, score the test automatically, and produce a detailed report. The report documents patient demographics, details of the accident, injury characteristics, symptom severity, and the summary ACS scores. These scores are then interpreted so that doctors and other health care professionals can best understand the likelihood of concussive cognitive changes in this patient. Such an approach allows them to focus treatment resources on those patients most likely to need services and not miss patients who require further medical management or neuropsychological evaluation. However, the ACS does not replace medical opinion and should only be used by a qualified health care professional.
